Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Want 'Annoying' Feature Removed from Battles

Some Pokemon TCG Pocket players have suggested that the game should automate “inevitable actions” in battles. Since its launch, Pokemon TCG Pocket's combat mechanics have remained pretty much the same, with a few core elements such as coin flips, Energy distribution, and Pokemon Checkups. Now, fans believe it may be time to update some of these features, as they claim certain ones are slowing down PvP combat.
What players refer to as "inevitable actions" are the game's Hobson's choices, or choices that appear free while there's only one option available. For instance, if the player has only two cards in play and the opponent uses TCG Pocket's Sabrina, the defending player is prompted to choose which card should replace their Active Pokemon. This may seem like a decision, but in reality, they can only replace it with the other card on the Bench and no other action is allowed. Naturally, some players feel the time spent on these decisions is unnecessary.
Reddit user Conscious_Aspect1369 made a post on TCG Pocket's subreddit, requesting the devs to remove pseudo-actions from battles. They suggested changes like Manaphy automatically allocating Energy when only two Bench options are available or Cyrus dragging the opponent's only damaged card into the Active Spot without needing input. In the same Reddit thread, other players have also pointed out that some of the coin flip animations could be automated or removed. They cited TCG Pocket's Misty as an example, arguing the game could discard her right away if the first coin toss is going to be tails, skipping the animation altogether.

While players like Conscious_Aspect1369 are making strong arguments against TCG Pocket's inevitable actions, others oppose the idea of removing them. Polendri, another player on Reddit, brought up three solid reasons why excluding pseudo-actions could do more harm than good: First, they claimed that some beginner TCG Pocket players might be confused by automated actions if they don't understand the reasoning. Second, they argued it could feel disorienting if some animations are skipped while others are not. Third, they noted it would be challenging to adjust combat mechanics whenever a new card makes an action inevitable or vice versa.
